Under 180 days of age and has been kept in a rabies-free country continuously since birth 
Over 180 days of age and has been kept in a rabies-free country continuously for at least 180 days prior to entering into Taiwan 
The dog/cat has been kept continuously in a rabies-free country during the period of exiting and prior to re-entry into Taiwan 
None of the above（the provisions for importation dog/cat from a country not recognized as being free from rabies shall apply

Quarantine Premises
Dog/cat complying with one of the following requirements may be waived from detention in post-entry quarantine premises：
(Ⅰ) Passing the rabies test with the blood sampled before exiting Taiwan and re-entered Taiwan from the date of the blood sampled within 1 year prior after exporting ;
(Ⅱ) Passing the test with the blood sampled within 180 days to 1 year prior to importation, and one of the following requirements is being complied with:
A. The importer submits the application for the import permit to APHIA at least 120 days prior to entering ; or
B. The importer submits the application for the import permit to APHIA within 20 to 120 days prior to entering and provides the qualified test report　that complied with one of the following requirements :
(A) The competent authority of the exporting country issue a declaration of the test result and email the declaration directly to APHIA.
(B) The laboratory email the report directly to APHIA or shown on its website.
(Ⅲ) Passing the test with the blood sampled within 180 days prior to importation and the date of blood sampling within 180 days to 1 year subsequent to
the previous blood sampling that passed the rabies test, and complied with one of the above requirements (A or B).
(Ⅳ) Guide dog, hearing dog, physical assistance dog or medical service dog certified by a training agency accredited by the International Guide Dog
Federation (IGDF) or the Assistance Dogs International (ADI); official duty dog or search / rescue dog of government departments.

※Please note：Upon arrival at Taiwan, the importer MUST take the dog/cat to APHIA quarantine counter and submit the original veterinary
certificate issued by the exporting country’s animal quarantine authority.
(Available only at Guanyin Inspection Station)Please refer to the quarantine space status of each quarantine premises on the website (https://pet-epermit.aphia.gov.tw/).and fill out the questionnaire for pet quarantine form after the import permit been issued.

※Please note：The quarantine space status on the website is updated at any time, so it is only for reference in advance. the post-entry quarantine space will not be arranged by APHIA Branch until the necessary documents that required in quarantine requirements submitted by the importer are well prepared (supplemented) and accepted.
Dog/Cat with serious medical condition applying for an alternative designated post-entry quarantine place (at home).
The importer should submit the dog or cat's medical records .

※Please note：
1. Dog/cat's medical records should include medical treatment records, examination and diagnosis certificates, etc., and the documents should
state the dog/cat's chip number and be signed by a veterinarian .
2. After evaluation, dog/cat without serious medical condition should be quarantined in designated post-entry quarantine premises.
A separate Project-Oriented Quarantine Plan is required concerning post-entry quarantine for short-term importation of dogs/cats to participate in or to accompany the importer to participate in international events organized by Taiwan or to attend activities on invitation by government agencies.
※Please note：The importer for importation of dog/cat shall be the organizer of the event/activity or the host agency extending the invitation.
